KB : Major Search Engines |
|
|
We support
the top 10 major search engines, which combined account for over 85%
of all web searches performed on the Internet. Together they penetrate
over 150% of total audience reach. The percentage exceeds 100% because
users will spawn searches on more than one search engine.
We only target those engines that will contribute meaningful
visibility, exposure and referred website traffic. Google, Yahoo, AOL
and MSN head the list and will generally make a greater impact than
the others combined depending upon the nature of your website business
and purchasing personality of your target audience.
There are many so-called “optimization and submissions experts” that
promote submission to thousands of search engines. Don’t waste your
money, they provide miniscule value, if any.
Please have a look on the brief details of each engines.

www.google.com
Google is a top choice for web searchers. It offers the
largest collection of web pages of any crawler-based
search engine. Google makes heavy use of link analysis
as a primary way to rank these pages. This can be
especially helpful in finding good sites in response to
general searches such as "cars" and "travel," because
users across the web have in essence voted for good
sites by linking to them. The system works so well that
Google has gained wide-spread praise for its high
relevancy. Google provides web page search results to a
variety of partners, including Yahoo and Netscape
Search. Google also provides the ability to search for
images, through Usenet discussions and its own version
of the Open Directory.

from Google. If a search fails to find a match within
